PRC - Premier's Reading Challenge Victoria.

2021
2021

COHR participates in the PRC every two years. All students have been registered and their accounts activated.  This week the 3 - 6 students in their library lessons logged in, checked their details and began to add some books.  Our P - 2 students will bring home a note tomorrow with their log in details.  Please note that student usernames and passcodes have been generated by the challenge website.  Students have been encouraged to record or stick their details in their diaries/journals and keep in a safe place at home.  If log in details are misplaced, please just email me and I can forward on.

The Challenge has been open since January and goes until September. Prep - 2 students need to read / listen to 30 books and 3 - 6 students need to read 15 books.  Our 3 - 6 students have recorded their books they have read since the beginning of Term 1 so they will be able to add those books next term. Our P - 2 students can start to keep records of books they are reading from now on and they can add any books they have read in Term 1 as well.  Books that are read in the Library will be added to their accounts as well.

Students can access the PRC through the student page when they log in with their school google accounts or they can log in via this link  -  student log ins

Follow the prompts to log in as a student.  Visit the menu/dashboard to select books to add and they can even write a book review.

You may like to peruse the website to check out the book lists, tips to get reading, author or illustrators chats.  Just remember to always search for the PRC Victorian challenge!

It is an expectation that all students enter books read and try to meet the challenge.  Books can be added from January and the challenge finishes in September.

Please email me if there are any issues.

NSS - National Simultaneous Storytime

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 21st successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.
