Project Compassion

A heartfelt thanks to all families for their support of our Project Compassion Appeal. All funds raised will be donated to CARITAS so that they can continue their work with the most vulnerable. Their work ensures that the most disadvantaged are able to lead dignified lives by receiving food, shelter, education and medical care. Ultimately our funds ensure that individuals are liberated from their position in so much as to become self-sufficient, it also allows us to truly live by the ideals of Edmund Rice to “give to the poor in handfuls.” A special mention to Mr Ryan Balboa for his organisation for the collection by our Year 12 students.

Easter Liturgies

Tomorrow a number of liturgies will take place in the Sarto Centre as well as OLD Parish. As a school community we will hear and enact some of the Stations of the Cross that recall Jesus’ Passion and Death. This will involve student input through: music, drama and singing. My thanks to the staff for their work in preparing students to provide a solemn and fitting liturgy on Holy Thursday. Be sure to look for photos of the liturgies in next issue of Woodchatta.

Edmund Rice Service Hours - formerly Community Involvement Program (CIP)

Students and parents will be provided with the College Policy regarding Edmund Rice Service Hours for 2021 in Term 2.  This should clarify questions that have been raised regarding this program that has been an inetgral part of St Pius X College and the manner in which we can remain authentic to our Edmund Rice charism.
