Prayer

Painting by Sieger Koder

On Holy Thursday, this beautiful reading from St John’s Gospel, teaches us to serve one another and in doing so we serve God.

Lord, let us love and serve one another as we journey to the Cross of Christ’s crucifixion on Good Friday and the Joy of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Blessed Edmund Rice, Pray for Us

St Pius X, Pray for Us

Live Jesus in our Hearts, Forever

Amen

With COVID restrictions around church gatherings and singing eased, I encourage you to attend services in Chatswood Parish, or your own, during Holy Week. Below is the timetable of services this week in Our Lady of Dolours Parish.  You are reminded that you will need to book into these services.  The link to Our Lady of Dolours Parish Mass times is below:

P&F Cocktail Party

With clear skies and happy hearts, we gathered on Friday night  for our P&F Cocktail Party. It was certainly a wonderful evening with much laughter and catching up with old friends. It was also a great opportunity to meet our new parents to the school.

I thank the P&F Committee and parent helpers for their hard work in organising the event and also the new ClubHub who organised a great raffle.  All these funds will go to the P&F and Clubs for use in student activities.  Congratulations to the raffle winners (announced in the P&F Page of this Woodchatta).

I also thank the Maintenance and other staff for their preparations for the evening, including our DJ for the night, Mr Stephen Cummins.

Interim Reports for Year 7 through to Year 10 will be available on the Portal from this afternoon, Wednesday 31 March.  Years 5 & 6 Interim Reports will be mailed home to parents/caregivers.  For further information please see Mr Damo's report on the Parent & Student Matters page of this Woodchatta.

Staffing Term 2

The College thanks Ms Sarah Gooley for her teaching during Term 1 and we welcome Ms Denise Ramsey back in Term 2 following her Long Service Leave.

Broad Brimmed Student Hat

I would like to keep the community informed about the continued consultation regarding the introduction of a new broad brimmed hat, I thank the many parents who have responded to the consultation and the emails received.

The College P&F and Executive along with the College Leadership Team have considered the proposal in detail.  It has been agreed in principle to include the broad brimmed hat into the College uniform as a another option to the current cap that students have available to them.

We have narrowed the hat down to one of two options – a harder hat or a softer version. Both will cost around $25-$30. It was the agreed view of the P&F and the Leadership Team that the students should be consulted on this and we are currently doing this but need more time into Term 2. It was also agreed that this would not be made compulsory but be an optional choice for the students.

Here are some photos of boys trying on the hat.

Consultation with the students will continue into Term 2.

Enrolments are now Open

Enrolment applications for commencement into Year 5, 6 and 7 in 2023 are OPEN NOW. Applications close on 14 May 2021.

Happy and Holy Easter

I would like to wish all our students, parents and wider community a Happy and Holy Easter.
