Semester 1 Reporting

As mentioned on our last newsletter, our teachers are busy completing necessary assessments to measure each student's learning progress in each of the curriculum areas since the beginning of 2021.

In this implementation, and different from our Progress Reports during Remote and Flexible Learning in 2020, we will be re-establishing our 5-point scales. These scales indicate your child's learning progress when working towards achieving each of their PLSP goals, as determined in Term 1. Further detail will be provided in the parent/carer cover letter that is attached to your child's report on June 25.

Term 2 Cultural Calendar

This year, the Student Engagement Team have developed a JSA Cultural Calendar. The intent is to develop our communities' understanding appreciation of the diverse cultures, celebrations and events that we share throughout the year.

In Term 2, we will be celebrating:

  • Eid Ul Fitr - Monday, 17th May
  • World Oceans Day - Tuesday, 8th June
  • School House Colours Day - Friday, 18th June

Students will have opportunity to share and learn about each other's cultural backgrounds, issues of community importance, all to build authentic and shared understandings.

JSA Library Update

In Week 3, our JSA Library opened for classroom visits. Our students commenced their 30-minute visits exploring our range of brand new resources for them to view and enjoy. They have also had fun using our Interactive Whiteboard to engage with other viewed texts on offer. Well done to our staff - Denise, Linda, Ambrie, Sally and Jo for preparing such a wonderful new space for our students week-to-week.
