Dear parents, carers and friends of the school community,

It was incredible to see members of our community come together last Thursday to consult and collaborate on the Master Plan for JSA.   Chris Le Page and Hannes McNamara from MUSK Studio, engaged parents, students and staff in a range of conversations about options for our proposed new school.   Thank you to those of you who joined in on the discussions and contributed to the master planning phase. I'm very appreciative of your perspective and ideas.

Principal Class Conference – Empowering Students: Student Agency and Voice

Steph, Dan and I attended the Hume Moreland Network Conference in Geelong on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th May.  The conference was officially opened by Regional Director, Jeannette Nagorcka and Key Note Speaker was Lee Watanabe-Crockett.  Lee is an optimist and believes in a bright future and our ability to build it together through connection and compassion. He works with governments, education systems, international agencies and corporations to help people and organisations connect to their highest purpose and realise their wish for the future.   Over the two days we had the opportunity to understand how we can enhance self directed learning by shifting from teachers being the agent for learning to student agency, by providing students with choice, control and autonomy in their learning.   We're all looking forward to bringing this new learning back to our School Improvement Teams to enhance our current work.

Steph, Dan and I appreciate the opportunity to work alongside our network principals and learn new and innovative ways of leading the school.
