Term 1 Newsletter Senior C

Evelyn

I have learnt this term about Aboriginal dot art. I also had fun at interschool sports. For interschool sports I played tennis.

Abigail

This term I have had fun in my new class and I've made a stronger bond with some people in my class. I am proud of my improvements so far this year. I’ve given my speech for my Fire Carrier role and I really hope people will vote for me. My confidence has improved when I speak in front of the whole class!

Max

This Term I have learnt so much about Maths, the split strategy and writing too. I have also been reading so much better than last year and have gained so much confidence. I did so well in the interschool sports cricket team even though I do not play cricket.

Finn

This is what I have learnt:

I have learnt to do the split and jump strategy in math.

I have had a lot of fun in the class with all my mates and playing inter school sports in which we won the Cricket tournament and I am starting to bond with people like Ben, Dante and Aiden.

I’ve had so much fun this term. Thank you Miss Costa and my classmates!

Chloe

This Term I have made so much progress in maths with learning how to do the split and jump strategy. I have also made progress at interschool sports and learning how to be a better player at basketball.

I have made lots of new friends this term and I am grateful for them. Last but not least I have had more confidence in speaking in front of the whole class.

Hayley

This first term I've improved on friendship and saying what I really want to say instead of saying “Yes” or “of course”, now I say, “No sorry I don't really want you to” or “no thanks”. And my confidence has improved when I speak to a whole class.

Conor

This term has been great because I've learnt so much and have made so many awesome friends. I've also had some funny moments and some scary speeches to do. I have also improved my skills in maths, writing and sport. l have made stronger bonds with all of my friends but especially Max and Gavin.

Andrew

This term I have learnt how to be better at making some new friends. James and Tigger are helping me, by sitting next to me, and saying shhh when I talk during class time so I can listen and know what to do when I start my work.

Gavin

This term I learnt more ways to do the split strategy and about persuasive devices which I can use in persuasive writing.  Lastly I loved interschool sports this term because we won all the Cricket games.

Ethan

This term I have learnt a lot about crocodiles; they are my favourite animals and through my Oral Speech, persuasive writing and homework I have learnt more about them.

I have learnt about time and how to use the split strategy in Maths which are not my best subjects but with my teachers helping me work through it, I am actually now quite good at it.

Lastly, interschool sports was super fun. My team

(St.Kevins blue boys) were exceptional at tennis and it was the best! I cannot wait for winter interschool sports. I have also improved socially by interacting with a variety of children, which I am enjoying a lot.

Sam H

This term I have enjoyed playing downball with my friends at recess and lunch. I have enjoyed learning about how to use different strategies solving Maths problems.

Ava

This term I have learnt a lot about writing and different types of writing and I  have become a lot better at my writing.  I am also working on a narrative that can hopefully spread over  4-5 pages. I have also become a lot more confident in speaking in my speeches and I don’t stutter every time I speak. I also have been getting better in my math problem solving.

Eva

This term I have learnt a lot about my captain's role and all the jobs that Dante and I do together. I have also become more confident in giving speeches as I give a speech every 2 weeks at assembly. In class we have been working on giving speeches and writing them too.

Ruairi

I am proud of the 5/6 cricket team who won the grand final at the interschool sports. I was the captain for 2 of the games and I played well.

Oliver

This term I got to represent the school in tennis at interschool sports and I even got to represent St Kevin’s at district tennis. It was loads of  fun. Overall this term has been a good one.

Aidan

I am proud of the St Kevin’s  basketball team because we showed good teamwork.  I liked how the class has been working on our oral presentations and I am proud of the commitment I showed working on my oral presentation.

Dante

I have made great progress in two different areas. One of them is leadership because I have learnt a new set of skills, mostly ownership skills. I also became school captain and I am really proud of myself and the other leaders.  We competed in inter school sports and it was really fun because we got to hang out with friends and play sports all day.

Ben

This term I have achieved a lot in my sport skills. I got the chance to represent St Kevin’s in a tennis competition

and represent our school in basketball for inter school sports.

Miss Costa

This term I have been exceptionally proud of the way in which Senior C has stepped up and shown that they are capable of accepting challenges and striving to be more in their learning, their social skills and while representing St Kevin’s in a variety of sports. Congratulations Senior C!
