PFA  Update

Annalie Darlington

The last sausage has been sizzled and the last icy pole sold. So apart from delivery of the Yearbooks to classes, we are done for the year. Hurray! And what a year it has been. We have run 18 different events, about 20 icy pole days, 5 food days and about 12 second hand uniform stalls. We have relied on 100s of people and 1000s of volunteers' hours.

Our combined efforts have helped us reconnect after a few years apart. We have generated lots of enjoyment for our kids and made a few friends ourselves.

If all of that wasn't enough,  we have raised in the vicinity of $125,000 in funds that go towards making the school even better than it already is. By anyone's standard, that has got to be worth an extra glass of bubbles this Christmas!

I can't name everyone, so apologise now if I miss anyone, but I will thank the below event leads:

  • Dee, for the opening event of the year the boohoo woohoo. A lovely event to welcome new families and start building those family friendships.
  • Victoria, for leading the welcome drinks, colour run, trivia and procuring many thousand icy poles and wiping out the local supermarkets of stock twice!
  • Danielle who has worked along Victoria, but also managed the website and the portal.
  • Kate E and Kate R for running another sell out Mother's day lunch, an event we all love and value.
  • Tamzine for running the disco and movie night- the kid's favourite events of the year.
  • Emma, Susan and Zoe for commitment every Friday in term 1 and 4 selling icy poles!
  • Asha for managing the food days. She leaves big shoes to fill in retiring from this role next year- Please let me know if you are interested in filling them!
  • Kylie for the awesome mother's and father's day stalls.
  • Jane and Rachel for leading the Easter Raffle and cupcake day.
  • Jean and Cindy for running the second-hand uniform stall and making the emergency lunches.
  • Kathryn, Kristen and Erika, my new BBQ team who have helped with election day BBQ and the damp Christmas picnic!
  • Priyanka for the bringing Diwali to the school, through lunch clubs, samosas days and our beautiful Diwali event.
  • Bre and Thea and team for the Fete which is a full-time job in term 4 and one of the most successful fundraising days ever!
  • Susan for the yearbook production, a massive job to collate and still available to buy!
  • Michelle for running the PFA Treasury, and Jo for keeping us organised as secretary.
  • Bre- again, for leading the Grandparents day, staff thank you lunch, hot chocolates and helping at pretty much every event since 2013. You are a PMPS legend and we are going to miss you!

Behind every event is a whole host of people supporting and please know you are appreciated.

We have all earned a big holiday, look forward to seeing you all again next year to do it all again!!!

Have a great Christmas, New year and summer holiday!
