Teaching and Learning in 5HD

Students in 5HD have shown their writing prowess this term with personal narratives and persuasive pieces impressing Mr M.

Recently students learned about using counterarguments to strengthen their own positions in a persuasive letter. They were given the topic of ‘there should/shouldn’t be school uniform’ and had to consider reasons for both sides. Students then picked their side and wrote a letter to Mr Moorhouse explaining their reasons for their arguments.

Students published these using their iPads, resulting in some well thought out, eye-catching letters that Mr Moorhouse might have to consider!

Students have also been working hard on their Christmas performance. This has been a fantastic opportunity for students to take ownership and show leadership, and Mr M has certainly learned some dance manoeuvres from students! The performance celebrates our unique strengths in a fun way. We hope you will enjoy our performance at the Christmas concert!
