Founder's Day 2017
Founder’s Day
Last Friday we celebrated Founder’s Day with fantastic presentations on the Golden Rule in three of the world’s religions - Judaism, Islam and Christianity. The message from all three religions, which can trace their foundations back to Abraham, is to Love God and treat others the way you want to be treated. Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we all followed the Golden Rule?
Congratulations to all the boys who performed in the talent quest. I won’t mention any names here but to get up and sing, tell jokes or perform in some way in front of more than 1000 people is a very brave thing to do. Well done boys.
The final part of the day was an acknowledgement of long standing staff. The Junior School’s very own Mr Patterson was acknowledged for 40 years of service to the College which is an impressive achievement in the College’s 80th year.
Prize Giving Arrangements
Please note that the Junior School Prize Giving presentation will commence at 12 noon next Wednesday in the Gym at the CHATSWOOD CAMPUS. The day is structured as follows:
If your son is receiving an award I will be sending you an email today as we have finalised all the grades. Many parents of athletics or swimming champions would know they are going to receive an award as their names were announced at the relevant carnivals.
Child Safety
This is very relevant with the holidays coming up:
SAFE TRAVEL: From the bush to the city, families travel out and about on all different kinds of transport - by car and other vehicles, bike, train, bus, ferry, boat and on foot.
The NSW Police Legacy Child Safety Handbook is now available in digital form the handbook provides advice to to assist children, parents and teachers on a range of areas related to child safety, including cyber safety, bullying and crossing roads safely. The resource used to come in the printed form but is now available online for parents and teachers. The web address is www.childsafetyhub.com.au
