Health and Physical Education

Year 6 Health and Physical Education have developed their Hockey skills, as Alexsandra, Rebecca and Louise explain:

In Year 6 Health and Physical Education classes, we were lucky enough to learn how to play hockey and how to umpire the sport. We were able to focus on the important rules and how to develop sport specific skills in a vibrant way. We developed our communication skills; both while playing as a team and instructing players on what to do when we were umpiring. It was fun because everyone was always involved and we have to try new jobs. We understood how important it was to always respect officials, as they are vital to the games. The unit was awesome and can help us manage our own out of school community programs, which includes soccer, dance and swimming.

Whittlesea Division Basketball Tournament

The Year 7’s represented The Lakes at the Whittlesea Division Basketball Tournament. Both the girls and boys teams have been training hard this term and represented The Lakes with enthusiasm and determination. The boys team was competitive all day and finished with 2 strong wins. The girls’ team was undefeated on the day and will progress to the next round. Well done to our Lakes Legends!
