Marriage & Family Week
The term began with Marriage and Family week, this is an initiative of Bishop Kennedy to acknowledge the importance of Christian marriage and families.
Each of the junior RE classes had lessons focussed on Christian marriage and families.
Also through the Explore program the year 11 and some year 10 students had the opportunity to interact with a married couple and ask questions about the importance of marriage and family for them. We are very appreciative that Janine & Joe Turner and Pilar & Joe Brown gave up their time to speak openly to our students. The students were asked to complete an evaluation of this program. Some of the student’s responses to what they found valuable about this program are below.
“The way they incorporated God into their lives so it was then an everyday thing”
“Showed me how involved faith is in a christian marriage”
“How they include faith into their relationship and also how to make time for their personal relationship.”
“God is important in a marriage”
“It did enhance my understanding of Christian marriage and family life because it taught me what values couples actually value, it taught me what was important in a couples relationship and how they actually maintained their relationship.”
“Faith and letting God into your relationship can be very beneficial and can help in ways that other 'therapy' cannot do. It also allows them to stay true to each other in a way the Catholic church teaches”
“I learnt that faith has a strong influence on Christian families”.
“Having an honest insight into christian married life from a couple from Armidale that we could relate to in a few aspects of their day to day life”.
Around the Classes

Year 8 have began working on the unit “Striving for Goodness”
God is the source of all goodness, and therefore, goodness ultimately triumphs over evil.

Year 10 have been working on the unit “The Sacraments of Service”
