WELLBEING
Celebrating Kindness at St James
Last Wednesday was “World Kindness Day”. This Thursday and Friday students will be encouraged to show kindness in different ways. On the playground, in the classroom, in the hallway, towards adults and towards other students. Staff will be working with students to understand what random acts of kindness looks like, sounds like and feels like.
We are encouraging students to be “caught being kind” and will have their action posted in their classroom on a noticeboard.
The following is a reflection that staff will be using to help students understand what “kindness” is. It is an advertisement for a Thai insurance company but I am sure you will understand why it is a great example!
Please remember to ask your children what random acts of kindness they have done this week.
Here are some examples that we as adults can role model kindness to our children and peers.
Thank- you!

St Vincent De Paul Christmas Hampers
A BIG thank you to all the families that have brought in food items and gifts to support this years Christmas Hamper. Please keep bringing in your items to be placed in the hampers in each classroom by Wednesday the 4th of December. Please contact your classroom teacher if you have any queries.
We will be having an End of Year Mass on Thursday the 5th of December to celebrate our year together and to present the Christmas Hampers to Lois White. Please join us in the Pop Up Church at 9.15am.
Foundation Mass
We look forward to seeing all the Foundation students at their class Mass on Sunday 8th of December in the Pop Up Church at 9am. This is a great opportunity for our St James Community to come together with the Parish in the celebration of the Eucharist.
Year 6 Reflection Day and Confirmation
On Thursday the 14th of November the year sixes had their Confirmation night with Father Brendan Hayes, Father Martin and Father Barry. The sacrament was held at the St Joan of Arc church and began at 7.00 pm. It was after many weeks of preparation and choosing our Saints names and the mass was a great combination of any of these events. Some received a blessing and other received the sacrament of Confirmation. It was a great night for all of us and an amazing experience. We would also like to thank our parents for putting on a lunch to celebrate this special event in our faith journey.
If you have any questions regarding dates or the Sacramental Program please do not hesitate to contact myself or your classroom teacher.
