NHS Senior Boys Cricket versus Frankston High School
On Tuesday March 7, the senior boys ventured to Carrum to play Frankston High School in the regional section of the inter-school cricket finals.
Frankston proved to be far too good and while batting first amassed an amazing 242 from 20 overs. Maheesha Gamage took a tidy three wickets amongst the carnage and Jack Braddick took two wickets.
In reply we were off to a somewhat shaky start and at one point were 4 wickets for 9 runs. Things could only get better from there and indeed TK had a great inning and scored a very well compiled 56 runs. Chipping in at the end Chenthen scored a quick 17 not out. And so it was that we scored a final total of 110, which wasn’t quite enough.
Frankston played a fantastic brand of cricket and displayed excellent sportsmanship as well. Sadly for our boys the dream is over for 2017 but they too can hold their heads high for keeping their sense of humour under trying conditions and playing the game in great spirit.
