GRADE 5/6 TRAINING

Last week, while the Grade 3/4 students finished off their soccer matches our Grade 5/6 students began training for their Winter Interschool sports for when we are able to resume our competition.

FRIDAY SPORTS FOR SENIORS

Since we won’t be having Interschool Sports matches for a while, we are going to reintroduce Senior House Competitions once more. Friday sports will alternate between House Competitions and training for Grade 5/6, rotations for Grade 3/4. We will have our House ladders back in the trophy cabinet and will update you with results through the newsletter. Once again we have winning plaques that will be presented to the winning Houses for Grade 5/6 and Grade 3/4 at the end of the year. May the best House win!

ATHLETICS

We continue trialling students in preparation for District Athletics in Week 7. This week we trialled the track events: 100m, 200m, 800m and 1500m. Students have been notified if they are on the Athletics team. When we get back we will trial the field events and hurdles. Students will be reminded through Morning Gathering. We continue to hope that by Week 7 we will be able to attend District Athletics however it will be dependent on restrictions for schools easing. We will inform the students of this during tryouts. Permission note with more detail will be available through Operoo once we complete tryouts.

JUNIOR SPORTS

We have been lucky enough to receive Sporting Schools funding again this term. We have been able to secure Gymnastics for the Juniors which we are really excited about!! We have booked the sessions for later this term in the hope that restrictions for schools will ease and we will be able to have the coaches into the school. Parent notification and more details will be available through Operoo shortly.

NAB/AUSKICK

We have had to reschedule the football clinics we had organised for the Juniors and Grade 3/4. Once again these have been booked for later in the term in the hope that we will be allowed to have visitors to the school. More information will be available through Operoo shortly.

Stay safe,

Giuliana & Lulli

Week 4 - Specialist Music Classes

Production Costumes

Before the fifth lockdown, students had an in class dress rehearsal for the 2021 Productions. Students were very excited to try out their costumes. The productions have been postponed but more information will be released for a Term 4 performance.

Juniors - Ukulele!

This week, the Junior students were introduced to the Ukulele. Students learned the parts of a Ukulele, how to hold the instrument and learned how to strum a few chords.

They learned how to press the third, second and first frets to strum the chords of C Major, C Major 7 and C Dominant 7 as a progression.

Although they faced some challenges, the Juniors were very excited to perform as an ensemble together.
