Speech and Debating - Round 5

The last round of the 2021 season went off with a bang, not a whimper! Hardy Croucher, Dannielle Frost and Phoebe Thompson argued the affirmative against a NASHS team with the topic That This House regrets the popularity of true crime documentaries. Our speakers practised in the Library against their peers and were well prepared on the evening.

The debates are adjudicated via Teams with a University of Western Australia WADL debater and the standard of adjudication is high and post-debate feedback is very thorough. Each and every debate is an enormous learning opportunity and I commend our speakers for the spirit of enquiry and generosity they bring to the competition. We were victorious on Monday night, bringing the win tally to four out of five debates. Congratulations to the speakers and to the team for being such wonderfully supportive team players! (Loud whistling and cheering)

We now wait to hear when the final and grand final debates will be held… Watch this space!
