Duke Of Edinburgh

Duke of Edinburgh Award 2018

At the end of last year 37 students and five staff went to Wilsons Promontory for the qualifying journey of the Duke of Edinburgh award.

The students had completed the practice hike earlier in the year at Phillip Island. At Wilsons Promontory the students had to pack for two nights and three days and complete three  walks ranging from 3kms to 16kms. The walks included the picturesque Lilli Pilli Gully, Mt Oberon sunset walk that was very challenging but absolutely worth the spectacular views, and the hike from the Telegraph Station back to Tidal River.

The girls set up their tents really well in trying conditions on the first day. They all slept well in windy wet conditions throughout the night and woke up on day two to a beautiful sunny morning. The girls also had a surfing lesson. They really enjoyed catching a few waves surrounded by the picturesque views of 'The Prom'.

Congratulations to all of the girls for successfully completing their qualifying journey component of their award.
