Design and Technology 

Greetings on behalf of the new Design and Technology team!  We look forward to bringing news and events of all things technology.  The Food and Textiles subjects deliver the very important issue of sustainability and we will be calling on all students and staff to help support this global concern throughout the year in different ways.  Stay tuned! 

At the end of 2018, the VET Applied Fashion class were busy researching sustainable outcomes in the field of design and technology for the National Gallery of Victoria and War on Waste Challenge. 

The Victorian Design Challenge 2019 invited design professionals and students to use their creativity to tackle one of the great challenges of our time – waste. This challenge aims to inspire impactful and implementable solutions that demonstrate the value of design and creativity to the creation of a better future.  Kilbreda VET Applied Fashion students have identified the growing concern of single use plastics and have put forward a Stage 1 proposal on how they can help drive meaningful change to reduce, recover and/or eliminate this waste product in our school community.  This is the first year the Victorian Design Challenge has been open to school students, so join me in wishing the team well on their submission.
