Welcome Back

The term has started wonderfully well, with students and staff returning fresh faced!

A highlight for mine has been seeing the Prep students head off on their first excursion. For some, the trip to Myuna Farm was the first educational excursion in their lives, with pre-school excursions not occurring in 2020.

NAIDOC Week

During the school holidays, Sunday 4 July to Sunday 11 July, Australian communities acknowledged NAIDOC Week.

NAIDOC 2021 invited the nation to embrace First Nations’ cultural knowledge and understanding of Country as part of Australia's national heritage and equally respect the culture and values of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders as they do the cultures and values of all Australians. The theme, Heal Country called for all of us to continue to seek greater protections for our lands, our waters, our sacred sites and our cultural.

In Amy Prior’s Assistant Principal report she shares how each of the learning levels developed our understandings of culture, country and our nation’s First People.

Facilities Update – Thanks Kim!

As usual the school holidays provided Kim and various trades and services time to upgrade our facilities. During the holidays:

  • Kim cleaned up many of our storm affected trees, gardens, paths, and drains.
  • Our computer technicians upgraded servers and network connectivity.
  • The asphalt driveway and paths leading to the Prep and Junior play spaces were completed.

In the September school holidays an asphalt path will be laid on the southern side of the Stadium, connecting the Campaspe Drive Stadium carpark to the Yarrunga path on the southern side of the oval. This enhancement has come about following community feedback and a request for a safe passage for the public to pass through the school after hours.
