SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY - THURSDAY 12TH AUGUST

Dear Families,

I hope you have been enjoying the Olympics as much as I have! I know the children have been talking and learning about throughout the past couple of weeks.

The Olympic Spirit is "to build a peaceful and better world in the Olympic Spirit which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play - Olympic Spirit strives to inspire and motivate the youth of the world to be the best they can be through educational and entertaining interactive challenges. Olympic Spirit seeks to instil and develop the values and ideals of Olympism in those who visit and to promote tolerance and understanding in these increasingly troubled times in which we live, to make our world a more peaceful place."

I hope these games have inspired our children to be the best they can be, to follow their passions, whatever they may be and to play fair and to compete with honesty and integrity.

Grandparents Celebration

We recently celebrated the Feast Day of St Anne and St Joachim who were the grandparents of Jesus. Pope Francis recently announced a new celebration in honour of grandparents and the elderly that will be held in July each year.

We know our children who are blessed to have grandparents in their lives love spending time with them, even if it has to be online or from a distance in these COVID times. They love being in their arms, enjoying their cuddles, hearing their stories and especially being spoilt by them. May we all treasure the elderly and honour the wisdom and counsel they share with us, may we all be the face of angels for them now and into the future.

We will hold our Grandparents celebration later in the year when we can invite them into the school to be with their grandchildren and share in their learning.

Building Update

My next meeting with our building contractors and our Architect will take place on August 12th so I will have more news to share with you about the progress of our project in the next newsletter. In the meantime I again share with you the short presentation modelling how our building will be constructed.
