Library News

Business Expo

Year 9 students have been utilising the library to work in their groups in preparation for the annual Business Expo this week. Teams of young entrepreneurs have been busily researching their business plans and creating business cards, brochures and other advertising material to showcase their commercial concepts at this Nazareth highlight event.

The library staff have been actively assisting this process and wish all Year 9s success in their ventures.

Homework Hub

Homework Hub is steadily growing in numbers. I encourage all students to use the time on Thursday afternoon to meet with their teachers or friends to work in this collaborative atmosphere.

Clickview

Our school offers all students and staff access to Clickview online.

This can be accessed from the quick link on the library home page

https://sites.google.com/site/resourcesfornaz/

Log on with your school email and google drive password to access thousands of educational videos. You can search your subject for relevant content to improve your understanding of a topic.

Don't pay to get e-books, borrow them for free from your public library!

Do you enjoy reading on your iPad? If you prefer to read an e-book these are freely available to borrow from your public library. Links to all our local libraries can be found on the NazRc webpage

https://sites.google.com/site/resourcesfornaz/public-libraries

If you are a member, just follow the link from their website to e-books and use your library card number to borrow a book, just like you would a paper copy. If you need help to do this please ask one of the college library staff to help you. If you are not a member of a local library you are missing out on wealth of free information. Take the opportunity to join up in the holidays.

Get to know your Library Ambassadors

Over the next few months we will feature one of our Library Ambassadors.

Emma Xerri  is another of our new Ambassadors for 2017. She is in Year 9 MCK2 and has been at Nazareth since Year 7. Emma confesses she is very driven and persistent but she manages this with enthusiasm and wit. She is an avid reader who loves JK Rowling and John Green. Her favourite books are Harry Potter, Diary of Anne Frank and Looking for Alaska.

Emma is passionate about caring for the environment and seeks out like minded people as friends. She also loves being surrounded by books - no wonder she likes helping in the Library!

Emma highly recommends becoming a Library Ambassador.
