MELINA AYRES - A STAR THAT CONTINUES TO SHINE

Our 2017 McKinnon Athlete of the Year Melina Ayres has capped off a memorable year with a nomination for Football Federation Australia Young Footballer of the Year. January 2018 has proven to be a breakout period for Melina as she began to establish herself in the W League starting lineup for the mighty Melbourne Victory.

Her two stunning goals in January caused a mini Twitter meltdown among football fans, and are the main reasons she has been nominated for this award.

Melina’s two stunning goals made The Sporting Life’s top 15 W-League goals of the year. Her strikes made it to #14 and #5 on this countdown.
