CARITAS AUSTRALIA PROJECT COMPASSION

Over the last 5 weeks, our students have been making regular donations to Project Compassion in Homegroups. They have been hearing stories about each of these young people featured and about how Caritas Australia's support has transformed their life and helped them to rise out of poverty.

The theme this year is based around hope and giving Lent 100%. Hope enables these communities to rise above their fears and helps those in great need to shape a better future for their communities. It is a powerful force for good and helps to re-develop lives. Hope helps us to face life’s challenges and sustains us as we work alongside the most marginalised and vulnerable, to achieve better lives.

The generous contributions of the College Community as a whole, so far are $1295.65. The Homegroup Challenge encourages students to make weekly donations to the appeal.

Our top three Homegroup contributors are;

Sherrin 4

Sherrin 6

Sherrin 5

Congratulations to these students and their teachers, remember, there’s one final week to contribute. Thank you for your on-going support of charitable giving to Caritas, through Project Compassion and supporting our Homegroup Challenge during Lent.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL EASTER RAFFLE

Our Easter Raffle raises funds to support St Vincent de Paul local Initiatives here in Wagga. In our final days of preparation, we encourage each Student to support the Raffle by donating an item of Easter Confectionary, Gift Bags or Baskets to build the prizes. The final call for donations to be contributed is on Monday. Raffle tickets must be returned to the College Office as soon as possible. Our Raffle will be drawn on Tuesday next week in extended Homegroup, so please get your tickets in.

Thank you for showing your support!

A LENTEN PRAYER

Lord,

what you ask of my life seems so right.

It is how I want to live,

following your Son, Jesus, so closely.

And yet I fail so often to stay on that path.

I cannot do it alone, loving Lord.

I need your help and guidance.

I need to remember your love for me

and I want to remember

how very much I need you in my life.

EASTER LITURGY

Next Friday our College will come together to celebrate our Easter Liturgy, centred around the theme, ‘We will rise’ a reflection on Jesus’ resurrection and the hope we place in our future as Christians. Students will reflect upon the Easter story, using symbolism, prompting reflection to consider their place in the Christian story of salvation. We will share some photos in our first College Newsletter next term. I take this opportunity to wish all our families a blessed Easter season, filled with peace and love. Enjoy the opportunity for some special family time over the School Holidays.
