Athletics Carnival

The 2019 Athletics Carnival was held at Jubilee Park on a sensational autumn day. Students from all Houses competed with fantastic spirit and the sheer number of competitors who participated in track and field events is to be commended. House pride was on the line and the House Leaders and Captains led the way from the beginning with some very entertaining themes in the House Chants, with a win to Webber House kicking off a day of close competition.

After a cool start in the morning, the day and competition heated up. There were some outstanding individual performances at the carnival. 2019 saw 12 athletes breaking 14 individual records, whilst 3 relay records (since relay records were updated in 2015) were broken. Outstanding athletes in each age group who took out their respective Age Champions were:

After a day of close competition all Houses were eager to see who would be crowned House Champions for 2019. Carroll House led throughout the day with strong participation whilst Kennedy House won the most competition points. After their breakthrough success in 2018 Carroll House held on with 991 participation points seeing them get over the line for back-to-back Athletics Carnival Trophies. Congratulations to all who participated in the true spirit of the event.

Thanks must also go to all the staff who adapted to unfamiliar roles and made such a successful day possible. Recognition must also go to our students for their fantastic support of the day.
