Student Voice

Mr Culbert

Student Voice is pursued on three levels: campus, cohort and class. It is probably the most visible to the wider school community at the campus level and it is there where important connections are made between student, school and community.

Further the campus domain is significant as it is mentioned in CESC’s Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) and Department of Education and Training (DET) through the development of school pride as a key measure. CESC is accomplishing progress in this area with school wide events such as last term’s Harmony Day Assembly and Athletics Day Carnival. On a single day last week students had opportunities to express themselves through activities with staff in areas that include:

  • Breakfast Club
  • Lunchtime Clubs
  • Melbourne City Soccer
  • Student Representative Council
  • Agora Activities
  • Mic Drop
  • Try outs for school representative sport

What makes the broad selection of activities possible at CESC is the passion and initiative of the staff and students involved. Our plan is to continue working with students and staff to identify and develop activities and clubs so that every student has multiple opportunities to give voice to CESC life.

Thank you, Steve Culbert
