Intermediate Football
The St Joes Year 9/10 boys made the journey to Rochester on 7 June to play school footy. The day started off with a bang with the boys winning comfortably over St Aug's. After a short half hour break, the boys faced a fierce Kyabram side who couldn’t keep up with our Joey's footy. The team then went on to play our arch nemesis in Echuca College, who were no match as we ran out 10 goal winners! After that we had the home team - Rochester. After a tough start the boys went into half time with a one goal lead, but proved too classy in the second half keeping Rochester goalless as we ran away with the win. The best performers for the day were Lachie Hogan, Mitch Bell, Jobe Shanahan, Cody Mann, Sam Chappy and Hunter Wileman.
The boys now qualify for the LMR Competition to be held on Wednesday 27 July, good luck boys!
Junior Soccer
Our Junior soccer players had a cold and windy day at Jack Eddy on Wednesday 8 June. The Year 7 boys and Year 7 girls only had one game to play and were both defeated in a gallant effort against stronger opposition.
The Year 8 boys had a few long games, however didn’t manage to get a win. Thanks to Mr Romano and Claire Byrne for attending on the day.
Umpiring
We would like to acknowledge our pool of students who are busy on a Friday afternoon assisting with the Primary School Football and Netball umpiring for the local primary school students competition. They are great mentors for the young students and are also developing their umpiring skills.
Upcoming Sport
To finish off the term, our Senior Girls AFL team will play on Monday, our six netball teams travel to Shepparton on Wednesday for the Netball Vic Competition, and the Year 8 and Senior Basketball teams compete in the Campaspe round on Thursday!
It's going to be a big week in sport and we really look forward to seeing the outcome of these competitions!
