Learning & Teaching in 1/2KG

A Snapshot of Learning in Year 1/2KG

The students in Year 1/2KG have had a very busy term of learning and fun.

We have been using and developing many skills including investigating, measuring, observing, collaborating, comparing, problem solving, listening, sharing and many, many more!

During one of our Maths lessons, we explored the concept of length. Using unifix blocks, we measured how long some items in the classroom were; including ourselves! It was so much fun!

Mrs. Wakeling has been teaching us many computer skills, including how to set up a Google Slide presentation. She has taught us how to include shapes, talking bubbles, and how to use borders and colours around each different slide. We will continue to use these skills in lots of other areas of our learning.

This term we began our PMP sessions. This is when we get into groups and do lots of fantastic activities like, tumbling, walking on a balance beam, twirling in the dizzy giddy, climbing through a maze of blocks and walking on top of lines using our heel/toe skills. We have loved doing this every Friday.

In English, we have also been learning how to make our writing ‘dazzle’ by including adjectives and synonyms in our sentences. We are enjoying our writing lessons and are looking forward to writing some narrative stories next term.
