Welcome to STEM with Miss Rendall!

We have been busy in STEM!

In Term One, Prep classes learnt about the needs of living things and grew their own grass plants. Grade 1/2 classes found out about the spiny leaf insects that live in the STEM room and observed their life cycle. The Grade 3/4's used the robot Ozobot to help the endangered bilby make its way around the environment meeting its needs and avoiding dangers. The Grade 5/6 classes looked at the adaptations of a variety of plants and animals and then designed and built their own new species.

This Term, Foundation students investigated materials by helping the Three Little Pigs, Grade 1/2 classes are making, separating and changing mixtures, whilst Grade 3/4 classes have been exploring forces and building a contraption to attempt to protect their egg from gravity in the egg drop challenge. Grade 5/6 classes have been experimenting with electrical circuits using globes, buzzers and motors and then designing and building their own scribble bots.
