Performing Arts 

Choir

The choir students have continued there weekly rehearsals into term 2 and are making fantastic progress.  Students have also begun learning the choreography which involves some traditional Malaysian inspired dance moves as well as Auslan sign language. Alix was nominated for a solo Audition and we are wishing her success in this process.  The concert dates are yet to be confirmed. We will be sure to let you know as soon as we find out.

Music - G4

The amazing students in G4 have been engaging with a variety of musical instruments this term and have worked hard to develop their skills in both percussion and piano.  The students have worked both independently and collaborated in small groups to play along to a variety of songs.  We look forward to seeing G4 continue to develop their skills and passion for music.

Drumming

For the past few weeks Y2 and Y7 have been revisiting some of the fundamental percussion techniques we explored earlier in the year.  It has given students the opportunity to consolidate and build upon the skills that have already been developed.  More complex rhythmic patterns including triplets and playing in unison with small groups has been our focus.  It has been fantastic to see students playing together on the electric drum kit along to a variety of upbeat contemporary music.  We look forward to seeing the  students continued to develop their skills.
