Sports Leadership Camp

The 2022 Sports Leadership camp was definitely one to remember. The adventurous, inclusive and competitive spirit everyone contributed really emphasised the bond that Sports Leadership hold as a team. The camp consisted of multiple challenging, yet epic activities ranging from water based activities such as kayaking, SUP-ing and surfing, to land based activities like walking, boxing, beach activities, mountain biking, and a 5km time trial around Churchill Island.

These dedicated sport leaders put in 110% at every time possible even when things were not going according to plan. They adjusted to all of the changes and challenges that were put right in front of them and took every challenge on with a smile on their face and a positive attitude.

Night one, we were fortunate enough to have had an amazing Australian Hockey player and physio, Sophie Taylor. She filled our minds with lots of interesting and relatable topics, such as balance in life, training schedules and pushing through adversity. We can and will all use this advice in our lives from now on. All Sports Leaders were extremely thankful for all of the teachers and helpers who set up the most amazing night of all; the team challenge and lip sync competition night. The night was filled with competitiveness, bravery, unbreakable teams supporting everyone, and most of all, fun and laughter which in this case was spread across all of our faces.

Overall, the camp was a jam packed three days and no-one would have wanted it any other way. The laughter, grit, and passion was displayed by every single person. On behalf of the Sports Leadership team, we would like to emphasise how lucky we were to have been able to attend this camp and could not have done it without any of the teachers; Mrs Chloe Stevens, Mr Luke Rowe, Miss Kate Burgees and students from the Class of 2021 that joined us again this year. Thank you so much and we cannot wait for what else is to come this year in Sports Leadership!
