Future Focussed Education - LNPS Strategic Directions
2017-2019
In 2017 Lockleys North Primary School held a Parent Education evening hosting a screening of the acclaimed edu-documentary 'Most Likely to Succeed'.
Most Likely To Succeed is one of the best films ever done on the topic of school — both its past and its future. It examines the history of education, revealing the growing shortcomings of school models in todayʼs innovative world. It points to the critical issues affecting education today and conveys the urgency for moving our school into the 21st century . . . but in an inspiring way.
The film inspired school staff and the community with a sense of purpose and possibility in re-imagining what our students and teachers are capable of doing. The educational shift is rapid, and today’s students will inherit a legacy of global challenges that we see and read about each day. They will face critical issues that impact our entire planet, along with challenges that we cannot yet imagine (Lee Watanabe Crockett).
LNPS staff continually look for ways at providing learning experiences which move beyond literacy and numeracy and into the realms of critical and creative thinking, ethical action, and a deep awareness and understanding of our global culture.
We would like to extend an invitation to all families of LNPS students to join us on the 6th June as we look further into our Future Focussed Education: Strategic Directions, and what this currently looks like within our learning spaces.
LNPS Leadership, staff and the Education Committee will be present to facilitate a Q&A session.
