Around and Beyond the school
Remote learning proved to be fruitful for some of the budding young writers at Baimbridge College. We hope you enjoy these homegrown beauties!
Getting your head right…With a lot going on in the world right now, it’s hard to place where some things are at. The news may repeat things over and over until that’s all you hear and all anyone talks about. That’s how the media works, it’s how they make their money and sometimes something is blown out of proportion but at the time we all think “I can’t believe that happened”.Life can be pretty confusing sometimes. I did notice during lockdown that the media had very little to report on on a local level and one day the main news on the radio was the fact that an elderly man had become stranded in his car at the side of the road and a truck driver came along, picked him up and took him home. This made me appreciate the fact that sometimes, a simple act of kindness can make the news.Food for thought…

I grind my teeth at the same pace as the outboard,
I’ve been freed of the societal paradise.
I float upon a body of matter unaware, apart from a subconscious that is riding free along aside me,
how dare they love me.
This is it.
She loved my soul, he hated that he didn’t know what I was thinking.
I choose if I stumble and fall but this is freedom from your so called ‘life’ but I’m much happier with mine.
So save it for another, god knows you will as you’ve got enough to spare.
I prance the ever unwandered in the mirror of myself to find those lullabies that I was once promised.
It sends chills through me, the thought of a story between me and my true provider. This plentiful land bound by the organization of wilderness.
This is it.
I remember you in the back seat of my mind,
I make an observation that something’s wrong, I’ve got a cough that brings up this sh!t from my lungs but if that’s the toll I bear from my time with you I’m more than happy to live my life here with those than the memories you’ve given me of my old life.
In a way I’ve evolved. I’m new and better for it.
This is it.
I don’t have a working doubt, I have once before but I decide that this is it.
I am not there when I’m there, I am here and this is it. ~ Anonymous
