Levels 1 & 2

Level 1 Update
Level 1 was so excited to come back to school after remote learning and we have all settled back in very well! We have loved developmental play time with our friends again, practicing our SEL positive behaviours of including others, using our manners and trying our best.
In Numeracy our focus has been telling the time. We particularly focused on “half past” and matched analogue clocks to digital ones using a domino game.
We read ‘I wanna Iguana’ in Literacy and thought of exciting pets that we’d like to own. We then decided on 3 persuasive reasons as to why our parents should let us get the pet of our dreams. They were very convincing!
Level 2 Update
The Level Two students ended their remote learning with disco parties and fun online games. Last week they all were extremely happy to see each other and to be back learning onsite at school.
For Numeracy this week we have been focusing on measurement both formal and informal. We have had lots of fun making paper aeroplanes, estimating and measuring how far they could fly. We also had a paper chain challenge, where the students had to work in a small group using only one piece of A3 paper to see who could make the longest paper chain in 15 minutes.
Literacy has involved reading one of our favourite books “The day the crayons quit.” We have made our favourite colour crayon and written a persuasive letter to our crayon convincing them to come back.
In Inquiry we have had lots of fun doing 1 minute challenges. Some of the challenges included bottle flip, button throw, marble roll and paper cup stack.
