Levels 5 & 6

Level 5 Update
Mapping & Poems
Over the last two weeks, Level 5 students have been working on Mapping and Directional tasks in Numeracy. They were given instructions to create a map of an exciting holiday destination called ‘Shark Island’. They marked up the x and y axis with co-ordinates and drew the island with all its features. Kids wrote instructions to find some buried treasure on their island. Here is an example of an outstanding island with clear instructions on how to discover, can you find the treasure?
The kids have also been learning about poetry the last few weeks. Here is Jaz reading his Limerick, great work Jaz!

Level 6 Update
In Level 6, students have been hard at work throughout Term 2. As our Learning from home time comes to a close, we thought we would take a moment to reflect on the last few months.
Remote Learning by Molly Peake
11 weeks ago schools were announced cancelled. Students were devastated! But we were encouraged to stay positive by our amazing teachers. On the 24th of March, we started Remote Learning, where we would be online calling every day.
Some students were scared but our teachers were so supportive and helped us through everything. The teachers handled Remote Learning very well, making sure that everyone felt confidence in themselves. The work was great and we all knew what was assigned. Us students of JPPS have learning for home for 8 weeks now and we are beyond excited to be back at school and be with friends, teachers and of course Ziggy.

What My Home Schooling Experience has Been Like This Term By Marcus Salatas On the first day of homeschooling, I found my work really difficult to do. I was struggling a lot, mainly because I was really unfamiliar with the work condition. I’m really used to working in the classroom, with my friends and in a really friendly environment. On my first day I hated it because I didn’t get all of my work done in time. But a few weeks later, I got the hang of it and I got all of my work done at around 12:00pm. It was really easy! |
