TheirCare OSHC

TheirCare at the Yarrabah Parent Expo

It was wonderful to see a number of families stop by and say hello to our OSHC provider TheirCare staff. Students from the program decorated the tablecloth as part of their art session and on offer was freshly baked, zucchini and chocolate brownies - healthy and delicious.

On Thursday, May 6th, TheirCare will be running a pop-up shop stocked with items created and baked by our OSHC student cohort. Please stop by and show your support.

Program Update

Our School Holiday program was very popular and packed full of exciting incursions and excursions. Highlights included the Wild Action Zoo incursion and Moonlit Sanctuary excursion. It was wonderful to see the children enjoying the activities with their school friends.

We are in the process of revamping existing spaces and utilising additional indoor and outdoor areas to expand opportunities for children within the program. This includes the use of the canteen for cooking club and working with the school to start a garden program.

The number of children attending the weekly OSHC program has been steadily increasing and is close to reaching capacity on some afternoons. For families already using the service we ask that you notify TheirCare of any absences with at least 24 hours’ notice on yarrabah@theircare.com.au. This assists greatly with staffing and will also enable another child to use the vacated place when a wait list is implemented. On the day absences can be sent through via text to me on 0459 868 746. Parents/Carers are also advised to contact the service ASAP if wanting to book a place for the first time.

I welcome contact from families in relation to suggestions for improving the OSHC program, including potential community partnerships and school holiday program destinations. I also welcome contact from individuals/companies wishing to donate items to the program, including play items and gardening products. Sponsors will be recognised via our Yarrabah School newsletter and Facebook page.
