Comedy was back!

A fabulous community night

We enjoyed a fabulous night of community making last Thursday at Thornbury Theatre - 400 families, friends and staff joined in the good times at the Comedy Night, embracing the laughs and the brilliant line up. Dave O’Neil knew his audience so well, lampooning 'Northcote-speak'; Damian Callinan was a fantastic MC and 'Wine Bluff' - he and Paul Calleja yet again crowned a Northcote parent 'wine wanker' of the night. George McEnroe had us in stitches with her tales of parenting; Jodie J Hill's sharp observations drew plenty of laughs; as did Claire Hooper's dry wit and dark humour. Dilruk Jayasinha exploded cultural myths with great hilarity; and Tripod closed the night in true style with their witty songs and banter.

Parents, friends and staff alike had plenty of fun and raised over $20,000 for developing Northcote High ‘spaces’ internal and external...

A big thank you to the Events and Fundraising Committee for their hard work on a brilliant event, plus Kate Challis, Katie Marshall and Jocelyn Hill.  Huge appreciation also to the very generous parents and community members who donated prizes to our raffle and silent auction (our winners were thrilled) and to all who attended and made the event special.
