On Friday, 5 March, the Senior Boys Volleyball team competed in the Geelong Interschool Regional Championship. In the preliminary rounds they had victories over Geelong High, Northern Bay B and Bellarine. We waited with anticipation and excitement to see who would be our opponents in the grand final.  We were to face Northern Bay A, and play best out of three sets.

The final was nail biting with no team dominating. Max captained and positioned his team mates with military precision to win the first set.  June saved a point but his hamstring was done. Shwe Pya may be a quiet young man, but his serves spoke volumes as they echoed across the net. Pay Bya revved the crowed as he faced the net and Soe responded to every call. Kabil’s height was needed to save a few points and Men Reh was smiling as he set up for Htay’s power shots. Maamer and Dylyn were consistent in encouraging each other as they absorbed every moment of the game.

The third set was tough and we held on to the very last minute, the score  in the end was 12/9. We were runners up, but our lunchtime training sessions and our attitude during the day was commendable.

Special mention to Tommy and Patrick who turned up to every training session.

2021 ATHLETICS SPORTS

After a 24 month wait we were finally able to run the NGSC Athletic Sports. A huge thank-you to teachers for their assistance running the event. Also, a big thank you to the students who also helped on the day. It was great to see some real House spirit with team colours, face paint and even costumes. The enthusiastic and supportive atmosphere was a credit to the students in all Houses. The next level of competition is to be held this Term against other schools in the Bellarine Division.
