Tutor Program

Throughout this term, our teachers have been testing our students to assess their current understanding of Literacy and Numeracy and identify gaps in learning progress that may have been impacted by remote and flexible learning due to COVID-19 in 2020.

We have welcomed two Tutors, John Hudson and Madeleine Charisis into our College that will directly work to support the students in need within the classroom.

Hi, my name is Madeleine and I’m so excited to be working at Edgars Creek Secondary College as an English Tutor in 2021. I’m currently completing my Master of Teaching at the University of Melbourne, where I specialise in English and Media learning areas and educational research. I have worked privately as a VCE tutor and dance teacher, and strongly believe in creating safe, positive learning environments where students can learn and develop as individuals. Outside of the classroom, you can often find me reading, listening to podcasts, or seeking out a great cup of coffee with a friend. I look forward to getting to know the ECSC community throughout the year and supporting students in the classroom.

John Hudson

My name is John Hudson, I'm a 4th year Education student at Victoria University hoping to become a Mathematics, Physics and Psychology teacher one day I have a passion for not only making learning fun and engaging for all students but to highlight the usefulness of all content in everyday situations. When I'm not teaching or learning, I love to play board games with friends or watch the fairy penguin colony at St Kilda beach. I'm honoured to become a part of the community of Wollert and play such an important role in your children's lives.

Madeleine and John will be with us for the next 8 months supporting our  students within the classroom to achieve their potential. We are looking forward for our students involved to 'Embrace Learning'.

Professional Learning Community

As we come to the end of our first term of 2021, it is important to acknowledge our teaching staff in their continuous collaborative and adaptable approach to our Teaching and Learning program.

On Monday, teaching staff were nominated to represent each Learning Area to share their journey for their Inquiry Cycle focused on student growth.

This opportunity allowed teachers to hear from each other and share the success and challenges of the cycle.

Congratulations to all staff involved for demonstrating our School Value 'Look to inspire yourself and others'.
