International Women's Day

We celebrated International Women's Day on Tuesday 9th March. Students were selected from each homegroup to participate. Show bags were prepared, filled with a range of donations from Chemist Warehouse Gisborne and Pharmacy Select, Aurora Village Wollert. Wollert Coles donated pink donuts for us to enjoy.

The purpose of International Women's Day was discussed,  as a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women along with providing a voice for those in difficult circumstances.

Our guest speakers included Erin Simpson, Leah Roach and Nancy D'Aspromonte. Each shared aspects of their personal journey's in life with messages for the students to aim high, be resilient and challenge for change to make the world a better place. Thanks to Rakshita, Sienna & Alyssa for thanking speakers.

Special thanks to Maria for purchasing snacks and sourcing gifts for welcome bags, Trish for making ribbons and bookmarks and decorating the room, Tanele for her photography skills & Kathryn for her book displays, Dee for setting up and staff for supporting the event.
