From the Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians

Open Day

Today was our first official Open day for 2021. Our Yr 6 students were brilliant in the way they conducted the tours. They are definitely very proud of their school!!!!!!. When I asked the prospective parents if they had any questions, they informed me that the Yr 6 students were able to articulate everything so well they really didn't have many questions.   Please continue to spread the word about St Bede's to family and friends.

Congratulations

Congratulation to Laura  Jeffreys and her husband Shannyn on the arrival of  their first child Sasha Ivy on Tuesday. I know I speak on behalf of the whole community when I say Sasha will bring great joy to their life.  We can't wait for Sasha to visit St Bede's!

What an action packed week!!  Sometimes events all take place place in a short period of time.  This week  we combined  Catholic Education week with Harmony week as well as Bullying no Way Day. ( Tomorrow)

It was special  to gather together on Monday morning to commence Catholic Education week with a prayer service celebrating our faith. St Bede's is proudly a catholic school and and our faith is a driving factor in all that we do.

On Tuesday  there was a touch of orange everywhere you looked throughout the school to  celebrate Harmony week.  As part of this special week the canteen is providing a special lunch order day. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible. I am struggling to choose what I should order for lunch because the choice is so varied!

On Wednesday green jelly could be seen being consumed throughout the school thanks to our wonderful parent association.  This was  in celebration of St Patrick's Day. This day is special for Melbournian Catholics because our Cathedral is St Patrick's Cathedral. Normally our school leaders would have  attended a mass  at the Cathedral and a picnic in the park on this day but the event was cancelled due to current restrictions. Hopefully everything returns to normal next year.

With  Bullying NO WAY  day  being tomorrow it is a timely reminder of our school Values/Rules

At St Bedes…

We are kind in our actions and words.

We are always respectful towards people and property.

We all have the right to feel safe and to learn.

We keep feet/hands/objects to ourselves.

Please take the opportunity to discuss these with your children. These are rules on our restorative practices forms that are sent home when there has been an issue at school.
