Social Justice in Term 1

Year 11 and 12 Students went head to head in Trinity’s version of “The Chase” game show. Subject teachers competed against student teams in 6 rounds of subject based questions to reach the final chase. In a close effort the Year 12 teamed were knocked out and Year 11 students versed the teachers in 15 general knowledge questions. Under time constraints the teachers went down to the Year 11 team in the final chase. All proceeds from the entry to the event and from selling hot cross buns were donated to Caritas in support of our fundraising campaign Chick-a-tas.

The introduction of Chick-a-tas this term has been a great success, with every $5 raised buying a chicken for a school in the Solomon Islands. Concluding this week, we encourage students to continue to donate and support your year level. Every little bit counts! The year level who raises the most money for Chick-a-tas will be awarded with a prize next term.

Chick-a-tas Leaderboard:

Year 10 -79 chickens

Year 7 – 51 chickens

Year 12- 47 chickens

Year 11- 40 chickens

Year 8- 13 chickens

Year 9- 7 chickens

Today we celebrated our annual Easter Egg Raffle led by Year 12 Student Leaders handing out numerous hampers wrapped by the Social Justice Group.

We thank each homeroom for their generous donations which ensured each winner walked away with enough chocolate to fill their bellies.

Proceeds from the Easter Egg Raffle will go towards Project Compassion.

PLEASE NOTE: To conclude the term’s Social Justice efforts, students are invited to dress in casual clothes. A gold coin donation from each student will support Project Compassion.
