Lunchtime Presentations

Monday 22 March – Yesterday saw the return of  our 2020 School Captain, Lachlan Mathie, and Christian Santelli from the cohort of 2020 to promote the UTS Bachelor of Accounting Co-op Scholarship. Both young men are the recipients of the scholarship and we had a good gathering of students attend. More information on the scholarship is available in last week’s and this week’s newsletter.

Coming Up

Wednesday 31 March – Students are encouraged to attend the lunchtime presentation by Mr Wade Tubman, father of Aidan (Year 9) on the career path of an Actuary. This is the first presentation by a parent from St Pius X for the year and I encourage any members of our community who are willing to share their story and their experience with our young men to get in touch with me via email at jmadani@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au. If you are in a trade, a business owner, still studying or working in a profession you are passionate about, please share your wisdom and story with the young inquiring minds here at St Pius X.

Year 10 Career Matching

Last Wednesday saw Year 10 go through an exercise in Career Exploration during their Form Meeting. Students were asked to answer a 15 minute survey which then generated a report that the students could use towards discovering and pursuing a field of interest over the next few years. They were also encouraged to sign onto the JobJump website to continue that exploration. Parents are encouraged to ask their sons to forward the report to them via email and to begin a discussion about possible career paths.

Early Entry Guide

The early entry guide for university is finally out and many Year 12 students will be relieved to finally have some answers to their many questions. The guide has been emailed to every Year 12 student and you will be able to access it via the Year 12 CANVAS page as well. Good luck!
