Congratulations to our new Student Leadership Team

I am please to announce the following students as the 2022 School Leadership team. William Thorne and Hayden Bliss are the incoming School Captains and Madison Treacy and Vaughn Quelnan are the Vice Captains. I look forward to working with the team and hope that they will be afforded many opportunities as we emerge from lockdown. This is also an opportunity for me to thank the outgoing Leadership Team of Maddy Hogan, Abbey Quinn, Connor Warner, and Gabrielle Dowler, it has been difficult for this group of leaders as opportunities to host assemblies, attend formal functions and attend leadership days were impacted by COVID-19 restrictions. The school has been fortunate as our outgoing leadership team led by example in everything, they did during their tenure. We wish them all the best in their Higher School certificate and hope the skills they gained bring success in their future lives.

Transition for Kindergarten Students and Year 6 Students Moving into Year 7

Fortunately, we will be able to proceed with transition for students starting Kindergarten and Year 7 in 2022. Students must have a completed enrollment form and children must be symptom free. We will send additional information to our families who have completed enrollment forms and urge anyone in our community who plans on starting their children at Molong Central School to contact the school and complete enrollment details, so they are able to attend transition activities. Students currently enrolled at Molong Central School do not need to complete an enrollment form.

Facemasks for 7-12 Students

I would like to assure the community that we are taking the recommended health advice in terms of the way we operate. At this stage we are operating under Level 3 Guidelines and one of the main requirements of Level 3 is making sure staff, and students in Year 7 and above wear their masks indoors. I am pleased to say our students have all complied with this request and our students have been extremely cooperative and respectful which has helped our teachers.

Student Vaccinations

Vaccinations are not mandatory for students. However, anyone eligible (currently anyone aged 12 and over) is encouraged to get vaccinated.

If a vaccination program is implemented for students in NSW public schools, informed consent will be sought from the child’s parents or carers before any vaccine is administered.

For information about vaccine consent for parents and guardians, refer to NSW Health’s Consent for COVID-19 vaccination fact sheet

Communicating with the School

Unfortunately, parents at school are not allowed on school grounds under Level 3 Guidelines, unless deemed essential. If you would like to discuss a situation with a teacher a phone call or email is an alternative. There are always exceptional circumstances, so I encourage you to discuss this with the

school. We know that this is difficult for parents, and it is difficult for our teachers who enjoy opportunities to meet face to face with parents. Please call 63668224 and we can arrange a time for you to have a conversation regarding your child with a teacher.

Year 12 HSC Timetable, Study Seminars and End of School Celebrations

Seminars have been arranged for Year 12 students as hey move toward their exams which will begin and below is a link to the timetable. Students are most welcome to study on site and access staff as required in the lead up to the HSC. Please email your teachers if you require additional support and make sure if you are coming into to school that you use the QR Code provided at the front office as you sign in.

The dates for the Year 12 Graduation Assembly will be 29th October and further details for this assembly will be developed this week but I suggest that if you are a parent of a Year 12 student that you put the morning of the 29th October in your diary so that you can watch via ZOOM your child graduate from High School.
