Junior School Sport

Mr Tim Jones, Junior School Sport Co-ordinator

This week has seen the restart of many of our sporting competitions, with U11 & 12 cricket back up and running as well as Year 6 basketball. Our morning fitness sessions, omnibus sport rotation and swim squad have also kicked off, providing plenty of enjoyment for the students.

Hugh Van Cuylenburg, founder of The Resilience Project, suggests that there are three things that instantly promote a positive shift in our emotions, they are music, exercise and laughter. The junior school morning fitness sessions provide all three, a perfect way to start the day.

While sport is getting back up and running in the community, I greatly appreciate the flexibility of parents, staff and children with our sport program as we continue to navigate Covid-19 guidelines at the same time as attempting to get children back on the sports field.
