CCTV
Moama Anglican Grammar is committed to protecting the safety and privacy of all members of the School community and has installed a CCTV system to assist with monitoring entry and exit points around the School grounds and key infrastructure. Footage captured by the system will not be actively monitored unless there is a reasonable suspicion of misconduct occurring within the area covered by the system or a request has been made by law enforcement authorities. The School will take all reasonably practical steps to manage the risks to privacy arising from footage captured. The purpose of the System is to assist with protecting the safety of the School community. This will be achieved by acting as a deterrent to inappropriate behaviour and by assisting with investigations into potential misconduct.
Coronavirus
The School is monitoring information regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19). This week Principal Mrs Carmel Spry and myself viewed a webinar hosted by the Schools insurer which had a focus on preparing for a pandemic. The School will consider advice and information as it comes to hand and will endeavour to be proactive to protect our School community.
Special Circumstances – Drought Relief Funding
In the last newsletter I advised that the School had been successful in an application for Special Circumstances Drought Relief funding. If your family has been impacted by the drought and you haven’t spoken with me as yet, please contact me as soon as possible. An informal morning tea is planned for Thursday 12 March 2020 at 9:30 am for all families impacted by the drought.
C4EM
The School has recently become a member of C4EM (Committee for Echuca Moama). Formed in July 2011, C4EM is a member-based, self-funding, independent and apolitical organisation that brings together the broad cross-section of the area's private, public and not-for profit organisations (across all sectors) to advocate for the issues and initiatives that will make Echuca Moama a better place to live, work and play. C4EM have provided valuable assistance to the School in the past year, including hosting a student immersion STEM event and supporting the Special Circumstances Drought Funding application.
International Women's Day panel
We are looking forward to celebrating International Women's Day with our school community. The theme this year is #Each for Equal. We are delighted that a number of our parents will speak to students about their careers and achievements to mark this important day.
Parents and Guardians are warmly invited to join us for the afternoon.
