School Sport
Soccer & Netball
Winter sports have now been completed. With over 60 players in netball and over 100 soccer players this year, I would like to take the opportunity to thank the parents and coaches who have supported our after school sporting teams. Well done to all of our players who have participated and displayed our school values. Special thanks to Mr Burge for coordinating our sports programme.
Metro State SAPSASA Athletics Day
On Tuesday 26th of September seven students competed in the Port SAPSASA district athletics team at the state metro championships. All of them represented the school well and put our school values into action.
Elektra and Khoder were part of relay teams, Ava gave it her best in shot put and Jake finished mid field in the long jump.
Klaudia despite having a knee injury won a bronze medal in the 11 year old shot put.
Amelie made a relay final, 200m final and won silver in the 11 year old 100m.
Marcus was outstanding in the 10 year olds, 3 events for 3 medals. Gold in the 100m and 200m along with a silver in the relay.
Marcus, Amelie and Klaudia are eligible to nominate for the state athletics team to compete at the Pacific Schools Games. We wish them all the best for selection.
If other students would like to follow in the footsteps of these athletes then your local athletics clubs is the way to go. West Lakes and Districts Little Athletics Club offers come and try sessions for $5 on Friday nights at 6pm.
Port Adelaide Athletics Club is holding a free coaching session for beginner athletes aged 8 and over on the last Sunday of the school holidays. See fliers for details.
