MARKET DAY

On Friday 4 September the Year 10 and 11 VCE Business Management classes put on Market Day, where students were able to buy a variety of foods such as pancakes, sandwiches, egg and bacon rolls, nachos, soft serve icecream, smoothies, cookies, cupcakes, fairy floss, pizza pockets, hot fruit pies, chip rolls and many, many more with all profit going to charity.

Students learnt how to run their own businesses and the tasks involved including preparation, purchasing, advertising, financial management etc.

My group was 'Circular Sensations' and we sold pancakes with an assortment of toppings and were very excited with our $106 profit. There were similar profit margins throughout all of the groups. Market day taught us all the importance of teamwork and efficient preparation.

Every stall worked tirelessly throughout the whole day, setting up, selling and cleaning up. All the food was delicious and the stalls were super busy!

Market day grossed over $4,600 with all profits going to charities to help support the local community and a range of other areas such as medical research and animal welfare.

Thanks to all the teachers and students that have helped organise and run Market Day. Special mention to Ms Mays, Mr Singh and Ms Wall. Without these fabulous teachers Market Day wouldn't be the success that it is!

Due to the hard work and dedication of students, over $4600 was raised on the Market Day. This is a considerable achievement and the students should be congratulated on their effort.  Profits will be distributed to a wide range of charities that will benefit our local community.
