ALL SCHOOLS NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

JUNIOR SCHOOLS GIRLS
On Monday 10 August, 10 Year 7 girls and 10 Year 8 girls competed in the Victoria All Schools Netball Championships.
Throughout the day the girls competed against schools all across Victoria. The Year 8 team played outstandingly throughout the day and came first in the pool. Thus meaning they were to progress to the state finals at a later date. The Year 7 team, who were also brilliant throughout the day, only lost one game to Rowville and narrowly missed out on earning a place in the Finals of competition.
The successful Year 8 team then attended the State Finals on Wednesday 2 September. Throughout the day they played against private, catholic and government teams from across Victoria, including; Caufield Grammar, Rowville, Ivanhoe Grammar, St Francis Xavier College, St Joseph’s Echuca and many more. Despite two losses by one goal costing them the chance to play in the top four, the girls were placed in the top 6 in Victoria.
With over 240 schools entering this was an outstanding achievement. The girls represented Lilydale High School with pride and should be commended on their sportsmanship, dedication and team work.
Congratulations to Molly Nyhuis, Molly Keilar, Shelby Lewer, Montana Wallis, Bethany Wallis, Bonnie Rowland, Bella Clark, Alexis Tucker, Indiya Bosen, Hannah Smart and Chloe Saunders.
