YEAR 12 VTAC COURSE
SEAS and Scholarship Applications
Year 12 students wishing to apply for University or TAFE courses through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) are reminded to register, apply and pay the $29 application fee by Wednesday 30 September. Otherwise, they could be charged a late processing fee of $121.
Once students have completed the initial application process, they will be able to change or restructure their courses until Friday 21 December at 12 noon.
All Year 12 students applying through VTAC are encouraged to apply for Category 1 special consideration through the VTAC’s umbrella program, the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).
Category 1 (Personal information and location) is designed for applicants who wish to be considered for circumstances based upon information provided in their registration and/or course application. These circumstances include: age (generally used to determine eligibility for mature age entry schemes), recognition as an Indigenous Australian, living or school location (for rural students), under-represented schools (determined by the institution), gender, non-English speaking background or they are the first in their family to attend university.
To apply for this, students need to lodge their courses, then check the Category 1 box in the SEAS section of the application.
SEAS is also available for students with difficult circumstances (Category 2), disadvantaged financial background (Category 3) or if they have a disability or medical condition (Category 4).
Categories 2, 3 and 4 requires applicants to provide supporting documentation, which must be sent to VTAC.
Applications for SEAS must be submitted no later than Tuesday 6 October at 5.00 pm.
Scholarships provide financial support to help students with the cost of higher education. Scholarships are not just for high achievers, all Year 12 students applying through VTAC are encouraged to apply.
The following institutions allow for applicants to apply for scholarships via VTAC; Charles Sturt University, Deakin University, Federation University, La Trobe University, Monash University, RMIT University, Swinburne University of Technology and Victoria University.
Students need to first lodge their course selections, then answer the questions in the scholarship section of the application. Universities not included in the list require direct application for specific scholarships, which can be found on the specific institutions website.

EARLY ACHIEVERS' PROGRAM
As a Year 12 student, do you demonstrate leadership in your school or workplace, coordinate a community initiative, volunteer in a local cultural, sporting or religious group or provide care to someone in need?
Australian Catholic University's Early Achievers' Program (EAP) recognises a student's potential to achieve great things. Gaining a place in the desired course is dependent on meeting the University’s minimum entry requirements and subject prerequisites, regardless of success in the program.
Offers will be made by the end of November 2015.
Students are encouraged to start gathering their required documentation now to submit along with their application.
