READING CHALLENGE CELEBRATION

2018 Reading Challenge
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis once said: “there are many ways to enlarge your world. Love of books is the best of all”.
This year, so many of our staff and students have enlarged their world by embracing the challenge to “read, read more and read more widely”.
On Thursday 9 November, we celebrated their efforts during the 2018 Reading Challenge. Throughout the challenge, our students collectively read over 3000 books!
During an Awards Ceremony, we presented certificates to the 137 students who completed the LHS Reading Challenge by reading 10 or more books. We also recognised the 89 students who had additionally achieved the Premier’s Reading Challenge.
We were particularly delighted to present Robinson’s Bookstore vouchers to our top readers;
- Mia Strudley - 50 books
- Charlotte Verdugo - 50 books
- Jessica Carden - 52 books
- Tobi Phillips - 52 books
- Mackenzie Coakley - 55 books
- Charlee Borg - 60 books
- Takeisha Fullerton - 100+ books
- Allison Kincaid - 100+ books
- Charley Nugent - 100+ books
- Emma Smith - 100+ books
All students were then invited to share a 'sweet feast' in the Library where they each selected a commemorative prize and enjoyed literary conversations with other keen readers.
