From the Principal

Term 2 Week 2 Kevin Kennedy

Dear Families,

It has been pleasing to see more students excitedly arriving back at school. I’d like to thank all parents and carers, especially those who have students in the junior primary, for respecting the restricted access to the schools buildings.  Not being able to walk your little one to the door can be a challenge and can pull on the heart strings but I have admired how well it has been managed by all involved.

We shouldn’t forget those in our school community who are unable to return to school at present.  We wish them all the best and will continue to support them to the best of our ability.

The latest information regarding COVID19 in South Australia looks promising with a number of restrictions being lifted. The positive news has resulted in 85% of our students currently in attendance. We are not far off our average attendance of 93%.

We will be allowing a number of support services to work within our school that are considered essential support for students. For example: occupational therapists and disability support workers.  Instrumental music is also returning.

Hopefully in the not too distant future we will be able to open the school up further. Decisions regarding this will be guided by the Department of Education and the Chief Public Health Officer.

If you have any queries or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Kevin Kennedy
